Hello from Pudsey Community Project
At this time of crisis we want to coordinate help and hope.
This project has been set up by and based at Pudsey Parish Church for Pudsey and its surrounding areas in conjunction with local councillors and with the full support of MP Stuart Andrew. We are working with local schools and charities and want to help manage the community response to support those who are most vulnerable during this health emergency.
We are collecting food, toiletries, pet food and basic medicines at the church and accepting referrals to distribute to isolated local people, focussing on those who are most vulnerable. We also hope to build a bank of offers of community support to provide wider services as the need develops. We plan to offer amongst other possibilities:
- Food parcels and other items for the most vulnerable
- Practical help with collecting shopping if you are isolated
- Someone to chat to you on the phone if you are anxious
- Dog walking or prescription collection
We can’t do this without volunteers, donations of food, toiletries and basic medicines (including paracetamol and Calpol), and money so please
get in touch if you can help.
Our drop off at Pudsey Parish Church will initially be open Monday to Saturday mornings 10am-12 and Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-8pm. And please contact us if you know of someone with a need we might be able to help with.
No one from this project will enter your house or make physical contact.
Stay safe, stay well and look after one another.
