Health and Safety at Pudsey Parish Church

We take health and safety seriously and want to ensure that everyone who comes into our church feels safe and leaves our building in more robust health and happier than when they arrived. At every service or event in church, there is a nominated lead and they will take charge with the help of other volunteers to ensure that everyone stays as safe as possible in the event of an emergency. As all our services and many of our events are open to the public and staffed by volunteers, we do request that you co-operate with us when responding to any situation where evacuation is required.

Our evacuation alarm is a repeating siren, and the assembly point is the south lawn. Our primary exit route is through the front door, but other exits are available. We do not use a register to check that everyone is out, but use a sweep system to ensure that rooms are clear as we leave.

Health and safety is always a ‘work in progress’, so any comments, criticisms and suggestions are always welcome. Some of our ‘work in progress’ documents are shown below and can be added to or changed as suggestions are implemented.
